Congrats to all the juniors who got their scholarships. *insert cackling, evil laughter*

To those who didn't get anything, or who didn't get what they wanted, real sorry and real hard luck, guys. Keep in mind that life isn't always fair and things sometimes happen for a reason. Keep on trying though, and maybe soon you'll get what you deserve.

Today, while walking at the Desa Park City, I met one of those top scorers (Names shall be withheld for privacy).

Me (trying to be a big brother and nice): So how's studies and the hostel so far?
TS: Everything is fine. But the hostel is umm...
Me: What's wrong with it?
TS: It's so dirty! There aren't even tiles on the floor... And the bathroom is disgusting...
Me: Why don't you clean it then?
TS: It's so dirty and I'm afraid to clean it!
Me (trying to be rational, understanding his annoyance): Don't worry... It's only one year...
TS: One year is a long time...

I think this guy is a perfect example of how some people never appreciate what's been given to them. Come on, you're going to the United States, Ong Ka Ting himself fought for your scholarship, you might be the next Ivy Leaguer - Something that might never have happened if you hadn't got the scholarship... And you're complaining about the dirty toilets? Give me a break.

I say: If you can't take care of yourself, can't clean up the bathroom, want tiles so badly, then give up the scholarship... And you can stay in your Mummy's house with your home-cooked food and your clean floors... And miss the opportunity to make this nation proud...

Some juniors are disappointing...

Reasons Why I Love My Job

My boss graduated from Harvard University.

Journey to my office took me less than 10 minutes.

Bandar Menjalara is a food paradise. Gastronomical delights available within a stone's throw from my office.

The working environment there suits me very much. But sadly, I can’t go online and chat with my babes.

Working with engineers and architects are cool. I learn lots of skills from them.

My colleagues are friendly and caring and dedicated. I also have an equally dedicated boss.

Life rocks there. But it's a little hectic I must admit. The workloads are heavy. Well great experience always comes with great sacrifice.

Saturday off. That's why I'm going blogging meaningless and inconstructive blogs here. Hello people!

Kamasutra

My friend has discovered this web site accidentally while he was looking for advertisements that won at the Cannes Lions 2006.

Trust me, this is gross.

But it's gonna be fun if you are able to create "your own style"!

WARNING: Parental guidance suggested for kids under 18

A Stirring Scene

My buddies and I went to Golden Triangle to get some clothes. It was pretty exhausting actually but had a good time nevertheless. Good purchases, good food, good friends. What else does one need?

Having dinner in Jalan Alor was actually a big eye-opener. A little girl bumped into me and I realised she was playing hopscotch on the pavement right next to the main road. She was playing and jumping over a manhole cover and every time she did, she ended up right at the edge of the pavement on the black-and-white line, sometimes teetering and waving her arms in windmills to balance and stop from falling right into the path of the oncoming cars.

As I walked away and when I looked back, I realised there was another younger girl, probably her sister, just lying on a little blanket right in the middle of the triangle, next to the traffic light pole.

What were they doing there? Why wasn't anyone looking after them? They were like, 12. My brother's age. What were they doing in the midst of thousands of strangers at 10pm in the middle of Kuala Lumpur? Two young little girls: one’s playing hopscotch and one’s napping on her blanket. It was probably one of the most stirring scenes I've ever seen in my life. I'm turning 19 in 33 days and I've never been hungry or cold or rejected or alone in my life.

Is it enough being aware? What do you do when there's so much you can't control going on in the world?

Then my buddies called from the escalator, and I left KL and the children behind.

Outing with the musketeers

Yesterday, Vee Nee fetched me and Pui Yin to One Utama. We were late because of the sluggish traffic and surprisingly, the gals don’t know how to get there what the **** (substitution of the four asterisks is up to individual discretion).

By the time we reached there is around 7.30pm already. We were astounded to see the crowd there. People just came in droves. But we still managed to get the movie tickets.

Hancock! Yes we watched Hancock! Overall the movie was hilarious and made us laugh. I think they made a great choice by picking Will Smith for the role of John Hancock. He has a great acting experience and is a phenomenal actor. If they had picked some young punk ass star, it just would have sucked.

You know, I can watch the movie with one foot reposing on the next seat and the other, huddled up comfortably beneath me but the girl sitting beside me keep on yawning like nobody’s business.

After that, we zoomed off to the McDonald’s and started to natter with one another till can hold a talking marathons that last for hours while enjoying our toothsome desserts. Believe or not? We poke fun and crack lame jokes with one another till we drop our jaws and tear our mouth. This bunch of young-immature-puerile-kids just ruined the fast food outlet there.

It was a real fun hanging out with you guys and you guys rock. I’m really looking forward to spend my time with you guys again.

Well Zouk is up next.

4 in the morning

9.30am: My first job interview was conducted on the 1st floor of the Tenaga Tiub building located at Bandar Menjalara. There was a ‘great’ view of Taman Tasik Menjalara, marble floors, chairs that were more form than function, and cat-in-a-hat decorations. Impressive but daunting.

Probably that's why I screwed up my interview. Well, I wouldn't exactly say I screwed it up, but I really feel it could have gone better. Ms Seet was extremely nice, friendly and accommodating but I came off sounding arrogant, I think? Or maybe not arrogant but just very enthusiastic. Like Margaret Hilda Roberts: "I spent three delectable hours doing Chemistry." sort of thing. Argh… I’m Margaret Hilda Roberts!

11am: Interview ended without a hitch. I was employed. Jobless no more but I rejected it since the salary paid was out of my expectation. I was so incredibly exhausted and worn out. Thanks to Tham Pui Yin for messaging me at four in the morning. I repeat it’s four in the morning!

Anyway congratulations to this gal for passing her driving tests eventually. It’s your turn to drive us out tomorrow!

Lights off.

Wa Si Hokkien Lang... Lu Si Sami Lang?

...Stumbled upon this site, http://hokkienlang.blogsome.com/, written completely in Hokkien. Now, I might be Hokkien, but my command of that language is so so only. At any rate, this site is definitely one hilarious guy (after hours of trying to make sense in what he was trying to say in Hokkien). For those of you who understand Hokkien, here's one site you should all check out. I'm sure you will roll on the floor and laugh till you drop your jaw. Cheers to all the Hokkien Lang...
