U

You're not the type who I will fall
head over heels for.

You're not the type who I will like
the moment I see you.

You're not the type who makes
my heart beat and race.

You're not the type who makes
me self-conscious, eager to impress.

You're not the type
who I will crush on.

But you make me slide
slowly and deeply in love.

One does not fall in love with you:
one discovers it.

Too late.
The one is now two.

Hehe

I'm taking a hiatus from Blogspot until 1st week of January 2009 as I need to work on my university applications. Well application procedure to US Schools are notoriously daunting.

And when all the toiling is over and I'll have to do left is wait are for acceptance or rejection letters, I'll finally get to have a good, long rest.

For now, I'm still sweating. Wish me luck!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!

public service was and is still such a let down

I'm trying to find consolation for my frustration and angst over what happened in the past few days, one of which is the idiotic people in the public bus who at the very mention of them just irks all hell out of me giving that familiar sensation of my hands wrapping round their necks to choke all air out of their throats and watch them suffer as they try to gasp for the last molecule of air.

The people in the public bus deserve a shot in their heads or hearts - whichever kills faster. Public bus is one of the most terrible transportation services I’ve ever encountered. On Saturday night, the bus was late for a whole 1 hour, with me in there, suffering from migraine induced by the lack of oxygen in the train.

They certainly have not been part of the Great Malaysian Experience of waiting endlessly for a non-existent bus to arrive. I was tied to the bus station not wanting to go to empty my bladder or buy an ice cream because every time I do, the bus will mysteriously pops out and chugs off even before I realize it was even there. And if I do, well... I'll have to go through the whole routine of running after it for a while, and then giving up half-way, my face flustered, breathless with everyone looking at me with a deadly stare that says "hey, it was your fault you bought ice cream".

The public service was such a let down. It disappointed me in so many ways. It disappointed me to be Malaysian, to be part of this country aiming to achieve such an elusive Vision 2020.

BUCK UP! BRUSH UP!

And if you don't yet understand that - I can only pray in earnest hope you will long enough with that sort of stupidity.

Leave Out All The Rest

I'm having a melancholy feeling right now after listened to this song. Damn you Linkin Park for making me emo. Damn you, damn you... Ok, I shall hearts you!

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared

But no one would listen

Cause no one else cared

After my dreaming
I woke with this fear

What am I leaving

When I'm done here

So if you're asking me

I want you to know

[Chorus]

When my time comes

Forget the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind some

Reasons to be missed

And don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest

Leave out all the rest

[End Chorus]

Don't be afraid

I've taken my beating

I've shared what I made

I'm strong on the surface
Not all the way through
I've never been perfect

But neither have you

So if you're asking me

I want you to know

[Chorus]

When my time comes

Forget the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind some

Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest

Leave out all the rest

[End Chorus]

Forgetting

All the hurt inside

You've learned to hide so well

Pretending

Someone else can come and save me from myself

I can't be who you are

[Chorus]

When my time comes

Forget the wrong that I've done

Help me leave behind some

Reasons to be missed

Don't resent me

And when you're feeling empty

Keep me in your memory

Leave out all the rest

Leave out all the rest

Forgetting

All the hurt inside

You've learned to hide so well

Pretending

Someone else can come and save me from myself

I can't be who you are

I can't be who you are

the Pearl of Orient

Penang is such a beautiful state steeped in heritage and beauty.
I can see why so many travellers are both attracted and interested in Penang.
Below are a few photogra
phs I took on my travels.
I'm no photographer but like many.
I love dabbling in the ar
t of capturing reality.
I figured I'd paint and portray with images instead.

Penang Bridge. Evening to dark.

The drivers.
From left, H20 and the Pervert.

Komtar at night.

Camwhore. Camwhore. And camwhore!

Hotel Malaysia.

Hello Penangites.

Well, Penang, a.k.a. the food capital of Malaysia,
is a food paradise for food lovers to sample the island's unique cuisine.

Gastronomical delights available within a stone's throw.

See. That's why it's known as the Best Street Food in Asia by Time Magazine in 2004.

--------

Penang's historic architecture is centred mainly in George Town.
It rows of 100-year-old shophouses and colonial villas give George Town its distinctive atmosphere.
For me, the best way to capture Penang's mixed heritage site is to scroll around town.
The aged buildings are noted for their faded colours and crumbling walls.
Old houses have columns or multi-coloured Baba-Nyonya tiles.

Present to you

Tan Kongsi.

and Mua.

Artistic. Really!

This is Cheah Kongsi

with a Chinese temple courtyard.

Take two.

Booo.

Yap Kongsi.

And finally, Khoo Kongsi, Cannon Square.
It's a traditional form of Chinese art with delicately carved wooden panels.

Masjid Melayu.

a must-visit place,

is located at Lebuh Acheh.

Next, St George's Church,
the first Anglican church in Southeast Asia.

Gorgeous.

Yeah, just gorgeous.

Trishaws with their drivers.

Farquhar Street.

Woohoo.

Walk me down the aisle!

Gurney Drive and people.

Look at the sluggish traffic

and the beautiful scenery

of Penang!
